1. Money Management Resources
April is Financial Literacy for Youth Month Many young people experience difficulties with their first credit or money experiences, then learning by making mistakes. Many resources exist to assist children and adults about money management. Students and adults with disabilities will benefit from these resources as well. http://www.jumpstart.org has many resources that will be beneficial. Descriptions of 120 free materials, some available on line or by mail order on a variety of moneyand financial topics. 2. Ellensburg Employment Conference
It's that time of the year again. Make plans to attend the Ellensburg Employment Conference, June 25-27 20003.Assist someone you know form a vision for their future by helping them attend this years conference to meet others with disabilities, learn about Employment options R and have fun too. There is a limited number of stipends available for people with disabilities and their parents. Aides suppo rting someone to attend the conference are also eligible. 3. Pierce County Self-Determination Forum
Keynote speakers David and Faye Wetherow from British Columbia will be the Keynote speakers. Other topics supporting self-determination will be offered to choose from. Self-Advocates of Washington, The Community Inclusion Program, Pierce County Human Services, and The Core Project of Washington PAVE sponsor this forum. 4. Information on the Workforce Investment Act Reauthorization:
President Bush WIA Reauthorization: The Bush Administration's Proposal Assistant Secretary Emily Stover DeRocco released the Bush Administration's WIA reauthorization proposal that includes recommendations on improving the workforce investment system.
