1) Mapping Your Future Website - is a one stop site for students and parents and school counselors with information on financial strategies, career options and college planning. In the Selecting A Career section, you can find out how to choose a career and how to reach your career goal. You can also pick up useful tips on job hunting, resume writing, and job interviewing techniques. In the Selecting A School, you can find find out what characteristics to look for when choosing a college or training program and how to find the best school for you. In the Paying for School, you will find the steps needed to consider or complete when planning to pay for education. Each section contains the information needed by the users, either student, parent, or student counselor.

3) It's My Life: Employment - Casey Family Programs is pleased to present you with this recently-published electronic copy of It's My Life: Employment. This guide is the first in a planned series of seven guides to supplement Casey Family Programs' It's My Life integrated transition practice framework. Each guide will focus on one of the seven interconnected life domains discussed in It's My Life - Cultural and Personal Identity Formation, Supportive Relationships and Community Connections, Physical and Mental Health, Life Skills, Education, Employment, and Housing - and will provide specific recommendations, strategies and resources for working with young people transitioning from foster care. The guides will be an easy to use reference and resource for child welfare workers, but will also be useful for all those concerned with successful transition for young people in foster care.

The Employment & Training Administration of the Department of Labor worked with a few projects to produce a short video which portrays success stories showcasing how the One-Stop Centers are serving customers with disabilities (i.e., getting them jobs). Some of the footage highlighted Navigators and showed how the One-Stop system works successfully with customers, including both persons with disabilities and employers. This video, which is accessible over the Web can serve as another training tool and strategy to share with front line staff and other collaborators. GovLoans.gov En Espanol offers Spanish-speaking communities greater access to available federal and state loan program information. GovBenefits.gov was among the Top 25 finalists for the 2005 Excellence.gov Award from the Industry Advisory Council. The Web site is one of the key initiatives that comprise the President's E-Government Strategy which focuses on making government programs and information more accessible to the public. "GovBenefits.gov offers diverse and extensive benefit program information for veterans, seniors, students, teachers, children, people with disabilities, dependents, disaster victims, farmers, caregivers, job seekers, prospective homeowners and more," said Deputy Secretary Law. "The Web site has attracted more than 17 million visitors since it went online in April 2002, increasing citizens' access to benefit programs and information they may not have known existed."
