National Accessible Travelers Database

To meet a need for more direct information about accessible services among users, travel agents, tour coordinators and tour guides, Easter Seals Project ACTION offers a database of accessible transportation services in the United States.  This database of transit systems is supplemented with information on accessible tours and tour companies, accessible airport and other private shuttles, and accessible taxi services. The transportation database website allows the user to highlight the state and city they plan to visit, and view all transportation services available to them. The user is also able to view the travel agencies specializing in travel arrangements for persons with disabilities.

4) "Choices, Challenges, and Options: Child SSI Recipients Preparing for the Transition to Adult Life"
This paper, from the Urban Institute, uses the National Survey of Children and Families (NSCF) to study the transition experiences of child Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients just prior to and after age 18.  The author's studied the work preparation activities and family circumstances of a pre-transition cohort of young people ages 14 to 17 in 2000 and examined a post-transition cohort of young people ages 19 to 23 in 2000, comparing income, work, personal and family circumstances of those on SSI benefits after age 18 to those who no longer receive these benefits. 5)Self-Employment Training for WIA Clients
Develop new entrepreneurs with help from the U.S. Department of Labor Self-employment can be a fruitful avenue for people who are unemployed, especially people with barriers to employment. Recognizing the opportunities in self-employment, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has encouraged the use of self-employment training for people in the One-Stop system. A new Training and Employment Guidance Letter outlines federal self-employment resources.
